I decided to go ahead and start Luna's litter diary since we are just shy of 2 weeks until her due date. Her belly is so big already! She hasn't changed too much being pregnant other than her voracious appetite and resting a bit more than before. I will take some nice photos on Thursday when I give her one of her two final grooms before the babies arrive. I am so excited to have several puppy homes already on the reservation list and I hope you enjoy reading about your puppies for the next several weeks. I can't wait for the pups to get here but I am glad with all the Christmas festiviites that they will come after Christmas. I am posting a few photos of some of the relatives of this litter(of course the sire/dam photos are above)

Here is a photo of Cash(puppy just above to the far left in the grass) You can tell he has a lighter shaved face than the puppy in the grass in the photo to the right of him. Cash is a blue puppy, this is evident around 5 or 6 weeks of age when the puppy faces are shaved. Silvers will look even lighter than Cash's face. Below is a picture of Cash at 6 months old and how his color has already made a dramatic change and will continue to over the next couple of years.

December 25
Merry Christmas!! Luna is still hanging in there! We have started taking her temperature and she is hanging around 99-100 which is normal for her last trimester. I will keep taking temps a couple times a day so hopefully we will be able to tell when the puppies are coming! Hope everyone had a wonderful day and keep checking back for updates :) We may ustream the birth if all goes as planned and if we do I will send an email to all puppy homes with the pass code.

Today Luna helped put the finishing touches on her whelping box. We are all ready and just waiting for the little ones; although I think we still have a couple days or so to go......
December 29
Well we had a very eventful evening last night and morning this morning. Luna surprised me with a couple of puppies before I even knew she was in active labor. Thankfully we had her area prepared but we were in for a very late night. Pup 3 came soon after the first 2 followed by a 4 hour break. Then puppies came so quickly I wished we had another 4 hour break. Ha ha. Luna blessed us with 10 puppies, 9 of which are lively and great weights. We had a tiny little runt girl that just could not make it on her own. Alas, we are thankful for such a beautiful and diverse litter. We have 6 girls (2 cream/white and the other 4 will probably be blue or silver). A couple of the puppies toes have white on the tips, these puppies will probably turn silver. We will know more as they get older. Luna has been a great mother and barely wants to leave her box to go out for potty. The puppies are just adorable as you can imagine and we can't wait to share pictures, videos and stories about them. I am pleased that we had so many females since most folks that have reserved a pup have wanted a female. We still have a few pups(1 or 2 females and 1 or 2 males) not spoken for but hopefully great homes will come along over the next 8 weeks. Pics coming soon....here are just a couple candids as an appetizer :)

Puppies are getting bigger. We have started the BioSensor Stimulation exercises. Basically there are five little motions we do with each puppy once a day for the first few weeks of life. These are just little actions that stimulate them to think and move in ways they don't normally do when in the whelping box. We are trying to set them up for success with any little things we can do to aid in their physical and mental well-being. Plus, it is a great time to get a cute little video of each puppy, right? This afternoon we make our first trip to the vet for tail docking and dew claw removal, we will all be glad when that is over. Enjoy the videos!! ONE WEEK OLD TODAY! Wow this week has flown by! Luna is doing a phenomenal job with her babies. She feeds them, cleans them and cuddles them so this week has not been too bad. I need to enjoy it because before too long they will be weaning and running all over the place :) They are all over a pound now, some WELL over a pound. I got their one week photos today, so enjoy!

Eyes are opening! They are getting so big with chubby little tummies. Several of their eyes are already opening and they are getting up on all fours for a few seconds at a time. This time next week we will be much more active.
January 19, 2012 THREE WEEKS PHOTOS
Puppies are getting so big and walking around all on their own now. This is one of the most mature litters I have ever seen and they are developing beautifully. We are excited for the coming weeks as their temperaments develop. We will introduce them to food in a few days and continue to offer a little every day as they get older. Luna will wean them on her own for the most part but supplementing with food will help that process.

Puppies are 4 weeks old today and getting so big!! We use a blue kids pool to put them in when cleaning out the whelping box and they are already climbing out of the pool. They think they are big stuff at 4 weeks old!! A few of the pups have startened lightening quite a bit in the face so I am fairly certain we have some silvers in the bunch. The blue pups will not show up just yet but hopefully by 8 weeks. They will get their first bath and blow dry this week and as you will see from this week's photos, they already have had their faces shaved. Please enjoy the photos!

Puppies are getting so grown up. They are now going potty in the potty area and we even take them out to the grass after they eat to learn to go potty there. Poodles are just so smart! They are eating kibble with goats milk or puppy supplement (and still on mommy's milk) and we will gradually get them to only hard kibble. They have enjoyed a few visitors (puppy homes) the last week so socialization has already begun. Most puppies have homes but we have a couple boys available. I am looking for a show home for one of the males if he keeps progressing into a nice show potential. They are a sweet bunch of puppies!!

5 Weeks OLD!!! Ah, the time is flying by. Their personalities are shining through and they are all so precious. We had "pool day" today as an intro to the water. They are water dogs after all! Enjoy the videos of their first experience walking in the water. They are eating hard kibble mixed with a little water and a tad of wet food. For those of you getting one of Luna's babies, I hope you are puppy proofing your home and starting to get much needed puppy supplies. I will be sending out a list via email within the next week with instructions, puppy's daily schedule for when they go home at 8 weeks and other pertinent information. :) I know everyone is waiting to see which puppy they will be taking home, I am also curious to see which may be my next show puppy, just a little while longer and we will all know!! Enjoy the videos! Some of them are sideways or upside down, sorry about that, I used my phone camera and didn't realize it would not flip itself with the upload. Just tilt your head :)

Today was vet day! All the puppies checked out great and were the talk of the vet's office. They behaved so well and it was quite an uneventful trip considering we had 9 puppies in tow.

Well the pups had a great Valentine's Day yesterday which was temperament test day. Sabrina from Balanced Obedience was the evaluator and was very pleased with this litter. This is puppy allocation week so everyone will know who they are taking home in the next couple of days. We still have a couple pups that have not been spoken for, so inquiries are welcome.
